The Institute for
Preservation and Progress
Grounded in Legacy. Geared for the Future.

In the face of rising tensions between development and preservation, The Institute for Preservation and Progress provides a path forward.
One that centers people, protects place, and channels progress toward a more sustainable and just society.
Not all progress is created equal.
The Institute for Preservation and Progress (TIPP) is a forward-thinking initiative founded on a simple but urgent premise: not all progress is created equal. As we navigate the complexities of 21st-century innovation, infrastructure, and industry, we must also preserve the cultural, environmental, and historical foundations that sustain communities and future generations. TIPP was created to serve as a national force for balance, justice, and long-term stewardship.
Mission
TIPP exists to forge a future where technological advancement and development are aligned with the preservation of land, legacy, and community. We safeguard the past while guiding ethical progress that serves people, respects place, and sustains possibility.

Vision
The long-term vision of TIPP is to become a leading national institution that guides communities, policymakers, and innovators toward futures that do not sacrifice history, equity, or the environment for the sake of unchecked expansion. In a world racing toward transformation, TIPP ensures we protect what matters most—even as we imagine what comes next.
