Support Our Work

The Institute for Preservation and Progress (TIPP) exists to forge a future where technological advancement and development are aligned with the preservation of land, legacy, and community. In a world racing toward transformation, we work to ensure that progress does not come at the cost of history, equity, or the places that ground us.

TIPP safeguards what matters most—farms, conserved land, property rights, and community voice—while advancing ethical, forward-looking solutions to some of the nation’s most complex infrastructure and development challenges. We believe innovation and preservation are not opposites. When guided responsibly, they strengthen one another.

Your support makes this work possible.

Why These Funds Now

We focus our resources on issues that have been formally reviewed and approved by our Board through the TIPP Issue Charter process. This ensures that the projects we support are consistent with our mission and guided by clear goals, strategy, and accountability.

The three funds below represent areas where the Board has determined support is most urgently needed right now. Together, they give us the tools to defend land and legacy while making room for progress that truly benefits people and communities.

Designating Your Gift

During checkout, please use the “Add a note” field to direct your donation to one of the following funds:

  • General Operating: Supports TIPP’s core operations, research, advocacy, and organizational capacity.
  • Landowner Legal Defense: Helps protect property owners facing eminent domain and other land-use-related legal actions.
  • Expert Witness: Supports technical, environmental, economic, and planning experts essential to regulatory and legal proceedings.

If no note is included, your donation will be applied to General Operating, allowing TIPP to allocate funds where they are most urgently needed.

Why Your Support Matters

Across the country, communities are navigating profound change—driven by new technologies, infrastructure demands, and development pressures that often move faster than public understanding, policy, or safeguards.

Without strong, independent institutions to ask hard questions and insist on better solutions, decisions are too often made in ways that overlook land stewardship, community voice, long-term resilience, and the protection of irreplaceable places.

TIPP exists to fill that gap.

Your support allows TIPP to:

  • Evaluate emerging challenges through a preservation-and-progress lens
  • Bring structure, research, and accountability to complex issues
  • Support communities and landowners when impacts are significant or unfair
  • Advance practical alternatives that reduce harm while enabling innovation
  • Ensure that preservation, equity, and responsible development remain part of the national conversation

By supporting TIPP, you help create a durable, mission-driven institution—one that can respond to today’s challenges and those still ahead.

Transparency & Future Initiatives

TIPP does not co-mingle funds. Donations made to any specific fund are restricted to that purpose.

Looking ahead, in late 2026 TIPP will open applications for new projects and initiatives, including the launch of additional issue-specific fundraising campaigns.

Closing Note

By supporting these dedicated funds, you are helping TIPP safeguard what matters most — our land, our legacy, and our communities — while guiding progress that sustains possibility.

Thank you for standing with us.
